The latest updates

So here's where things are at with reunion planning....

1) An actual website has been set-up by someone who actually knows what they are doing when it comes to web design (ie..someone who knows how to do something more than just a simple blog). Thank you Quentin Loutit for taking on this task. Please go register at the site so we know how to find you. The web address is: http://www.freewebs.com/lsrcssreunion93/index.htm

2) A group has been set up on Facebook for all those who are wasting away their lives on that crazy thing (that includes me!). The group is LSRCSS Class of '93 Reunion.

3) We're attempting to set up a planning meeting for those who are interested in helping to organize this thing. Quite a few people are in Calgary. I'll be in Calgary the last week of May and am trying to set up a meeting there. If you're in Calgary and would like to meet up, let me know. (If you don't know my email addy, leave me a comment on this blog). We're also attempting to set up a meeting in Winnipeg. Matt has sent around an email to everyone we've been in contact with so far. Again, if you don't know our email addy's, leave a comment here and we'll connect with you.

As always, please keep spreading the word that this is in the works.

Gotta get back on track here...

OK people, I am officially back on Canadian soil. I apologize for the break in communications...in my move back I lost the passwords I created for this thing...so not good. But, I'm back and I promise not to let me brain blank again.

The good news is despite the silence online, there seems to be a lot of buzz about our proposed 15-year reunion. So let's keep the momentum going. There seems to be lots of ideas out there. I'm thinking a meeting of the minds might be in order. From the people posting here, who would be up to meet and get some things rolling?

Here's where we're at so far...

So it looks like Summer 2008. 15 Year Reunion of the Class of '93. Nice. Lots of time to plan and lots of time to find our fellow classmates.

So far I'm seeing:
- Mark is going to work on getting contact list rolling.
- Cam will help with that by trying to track down classmates.
- Dan is willing to co-chair a golf event (if we have one).
- Matt and I are doing our best to get the word out and get people on board to help make this thing happen.
- I seem to recall Jamie was going to start up a newsletter or something. Can anyone confirm?

A comment was made about available venues. Is anyone willing to start poking around and seeing how far in advance you need to book things in town...like the Selkirk Golf Course for a golf event and dare I say, maybe the Rec Centre for a family and/or evening event. Maybe that will help us narrow down a date.

I guess the next question to the masses then is what events would you like to see? Suggestions to date include:
- Golf event
- Family Picnic or something for those with kids
- Social evening (as in a Social or an actual dinner?)

Please submit your suggestions and vote for the one thing you definitely want to see happen since I doubt we'll be able to do it all! Also, let us know if you're willing to help and with what.

A Fifteen Year Reunion

So a point has been raised that 2008 actually marks 15 years since graduation. We could take lots of time to plan and have a 15 year reunion. Or does Mark raise a good point in his previous comment...will people lose interest waiting more than a year for a reunion? On one hand it gives lots of time to plan and locate fellow classmates. On the otherhand, people seem really excited about a reunion so maybe sooner is better than later. So I put it out to all of you, are the masses thinking lets be different and have a 14 year reunion or would you like to see this become a 15 year reunion?

The floor is open....discuss....
